Tamara Abdul Hadi is one of the most established Middle Eastern photographers, co-founder of Rawiya, the first group of women photographers in the Middle East. With her photographic work she investigates on the representation of the male identity in the Arab world, exploring its complexity and stereotypes.

The People’s Salon is a celebration of the creative talent of hairdressers and barbers in Beirut, Gaza and Ramallah, with shots in which she captures the expression of male vanity, in imaginative hairstyles, perfectly finished beards, facial masks and elegant salons, places where, in addition to taking care of their beauty, friendships are formed and human relationships are intertwined.

“The People Salon” will be presented as special event on the occasion of the festival with an exhibition at the FSM Gallery (Via S. Zanobi, 19r) from 12 April to 31 May 2018.
