Showing clips from his various film and photography projects, he shares his experience, challenges and technique that he has used to find his voice to tell unique stories that touch the hearts and minds of audiences worldwide.

After a young girl from the mountains of central Afghanistan mysteriously commits suicide inside Kabul University, her family’s calm rural life enters into a painful and exhausting process. Parents are looking for justice in a country on the verge of collapse and Freshta – their younger daughter – attempts to gain admission to the same university.

Kabul as seen through the daily lives of two kids and a bus driver, set against the background of a city destroyed by political and religious powers. Afshin (12) and his younger brother Benjamin (6) live on a hillside outside Kabul. Violence has become a part of their innocence and the graveyard is their playground. When their father leaves for another country, Afshin’s childhood ends abruptly. Abbas is a bus driver with a double personality, a loving father and a ruthless driver who blows his top all the time. Soon, the filmmaker’s charismatic grandfather arrives from Iraq, prompting the filmmaker on a deeper search to understand her own roots and connections to the places she calls home. Audience Award winner at the Giornate degli Autori in Venice. 200 meters is the actual distance separating two Palestinian localities divided by an Israeli fence, the one that separates Mustafa from his wife and children. Every night, Mustafa (Ali Suliman) greets his family from balcony to balcony. The distance seems irreparable when he learns that his son is in the hospital. He will have no choice but to turn to a smuggler to get around the wall, in an urgent pulse-pounding odyssey, of a courageous father fighting against the paradoxes of life in Palestine.
