Film Middle East Now also presents projects and special events related to contemporary art, design and photography, talks and debates, books presentations, culinary events and musical performances, in order to give a wide image of the complexity of artistic and cultural expressions in the Middle East.


RANA SALAM: SPECIAL GUEST OF THIS EDITION
The Lebanese designer Rana Salam, graphic designer and artist among the most famous and celebrated of the whole Middle East, was among the special guest of this edition of the festival, with an installation and a temporary shop presenting her popular design items, and a lecture at the Strozzina – Center for Contemporary Art. The presence of Rana Salam in Florence was also supported by IED Istituto Europeo di Design – Florence.

HASSAN HAJJAJ presents “VogueArabe”:
The first solo show of the Maroccan artist in Italy

For the first time in Italy a solo exhibition of one of the most acclaimed Moroccan artist of today, Hassan Hajjaj, considered in the art scene as the Andy Warhol of the Arab world. VogueArabe, this is the title of the exhibition, recalls is an ironic and provocative way the magazine Vogue, and presents a reflection on the way East and West see each other. A special project of Middle East Now in collaboration with the Embassy of Morocco in Italy.
