Middle East Now continues its journey through the Gulf and it now comes to Saudi Arabia. Laura Aimone, Gulf Countries programme consultant for Middle East Now and collaborator of several prominent international film festivals, interprets this year’s theme “visual voices” through two films that are very different from each other at first sight. Using opposing narrative methods, they actually express the same uneasiness towards a present still anchored to traditions, yet already steadily projected to the future.
