Tamara Abdul Hadi<\/strong> is one of the most established Middle Eastern photographers, co-founder of Rawiya, the first group of women photographers in the Middle East. With her photographic work she investigates on the representation of the male identity in the Arab world, exploring its complexity and stereotypes.<\/span><\/p>\n

The People\u2019s Salon<\/strong>\u00a0is a celebration of the creative talent of hairdressers and barbers in Beirut, Gaza and Ramallah, with shots in which she captures the expression of male vanity, in imaginative hairstyles, perfectly finished beards, facial masks and elegant salons, places where, in addition to taking care of their beauty, friendships are formed and human relationships are intertwined.<\/span><\/p>\n

“The People Salon”<\/strong>\u00a0will be presented as special event on the occasion of the festival with an exhibition at the\u00a0FSM Gallery (Via S. Zanobi, 19r)<\/strong>\u00a0from 12 April to 31 May 2018.

FLYING BOYS
\n In Flying Boys the sea seems to represent freedom, relief and calm, through photos of young men captured while they are diving or flying in the air, ready to throw themselves into the waters of the sea around Beirut, Akka, Tunis and Gaza.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cFlying Boys\u201d<\/strong> is displayed with an exhibition at Cinema La Compagnia (Via Cavour 50\/R), as special event of Middle East Now<\/span><\/p>\n
