\nGreenhouse is a unique, innovative, international initiative aimed at developing and nurturing documentary filmmakers in the Southern Mediterranean region<\/strong> (Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Tunisia and Turkey) by providing them with expert mentoring in the context of three, successive workshops.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Greenhouse is a yearly program hosting 12-16 projects each round.\u2028 The selected filmmakers are invited to participate in three seminars in which they will develop a full international production package and a professional trailer, which will be presented in a pitching forum in front of international commissioning editors, film fund directors, producers and distributors from the international documentary market.\u00a0\u2028Greenhouse\u00a0is an international consortium managed by the New Fund for Cinema and TV \u2013 Israel, ESAV Marrakech – the Marrakech School of Visual Arts\u2013 Morocco, The Ankara Cinema Association \u2013 Turkey, APPEL & HONIGMANN \u2013 Holland, Bruni Burres USA and CFI, France.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In its 8 years of activity, Greenhouse has achieved exceptional success and has become a leading organization for documentary filmmaking internationally.\u2028\u00a0\u2028Of 85 film concepts that have undergone the full Greenhouse process in the past eight years, 21 films have been completed, most of which competed and premiered at prestigious film festivals around the world. \u00a0\u2028A prominent example of the kind of films emerging from Greenhouse is 5 Broken Cameras, the Palestinian\/Israeli co-production focusing on the non-violent resistance movement in the West Bank. An extraordinary piece of cinema and social activism, the film won the 2013 International Emmy Award in the Documentary Category and was nominated for Best Documentary at the 2013 Academy Awards (the American Oscars).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Greenhouse is working with key leaders from the international audiovisual sector, commissioning editors, film fund directors, producers, distributors, TV stations and film festivals from all over the world\u2013 The Sundance Institute, IDFA \u2013Bertha Foundation, ARTE\/ZDF, Tribeca Film Institute, Chicken & Egg Pictures, Jacob Burns Film Center, Sheffield Doc\/Fest, Channel 4, IKON, BBC Worldwide, Al-Jazeera English, ITVS and others.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
