\n<\/span>In an Iranian juvenile detention center, a group of adolescent girls serve their sentences for murdering their fathers, husbands or other male family members. Beyond a prison, we slowly come to understand that this closed, female-only environment is also a shelter for women, away from an aggressive, male-dominated society. Filmmaker Mehrdad Oskouei has forged a remarkable relationship with these women prisoners, filming their honest conversations and joyful interactions, and who privately open up about the consequences, and sometimes the reasons, for their actions.
